Serving at Refuge

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
–1 Peter 4:10

Serving was an essential part of Jesus’ ministry on earth (Matthew 20:28). As we follow Christ, we follow the example He gave us and serve one another in love (Galatians 5:13). We believe that God has given each of us specific and unique gifts and talents to use for His glory in the way of serving Him and His church.

Questions About Serving

We consider serving the Lord a privilege and would like to make it as smooth as possible for you to serve Him here at Refuge.
Here are a few answers to the most frequently asked questions.

When can I start serving?

We ask that you attend Refuge regularly for 6 months before filling out an application to serve. This not only helps you know that Refuge is your church home, but also allows us time to get to know you.

What happens next?

After you apply, your application will be reviewed and processed. You will hear from us regarding details and next steps. Serving on some teams require a background check and additional interview processes.

How often can I serve?

Most teams have a rotation dependent on the immediate needs. For teams that serve during service, serving once a month is ideal, giving you an opportunity to regularly attend the service.  We’ll discuss your availability along with team needs with you.
